ACCESS FOR EVERYONE

Accessibility Policy

Human-centred work must include everyone. We are committed to identifying, removing and preventing barriers in our information, communication and services.

Effective September 3, 2026

1. Our commitment

Dr. Archana Krishnan and TIAS are committed to providing respectful, accessible and inclusive experiences. We work to meet applicable requirements under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, including the Accessible Information and Communication Standard, and applicable human rights obligations.

2. Accessible information and communication

We aim to make newly published website content and significantly updated web experiences conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, in line with Manitoba’s applicable standard. Accessibility is considered when content, documents, workshops and communication methods are created or updated.

3. Website measures

We aim to support keyboard navigation, meaningful headings and page structure, text alternatives for informative images, readable colour contrast, responsive layouts, visible focus states and reduced-motion preferences. We review and improve the website as content and technology change.

4. Accessible formats and communication supports

You may request information in an accessible format or ask for a communication support. We will consult with you to identify a format or support that addresses the barrier and, where required by law, provide it in a timely manner at no additional cost. Options may include an accessible electronic document, large print, plain-language explanation, captioning or another mutually agreed format.

5. Events, workshops and services

We welcome accommodation requests for speaking engagements, workshops and meetings. Please share relevant accessibility needs as early as practical so we can work with you and, where appropriate, the event organizer or venue.

6. Feedback and requests

Accessibility feedback helps us improve. To report a barrier, request an accessible format or communication support, or ask about this policy, email support@thetaias.ca with “Accessibility request” in the subject line. Please describe the content, service or barrier and your preferred method of response. We will acknowledge and address feedback as promptly as reasonably possible.

Information you provide with a request will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Ongoing improvement

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing practice. If a part of the website or a document does not work for you, please contact us. We will work to provide the information another way and use the feedback to guide future improvements.

More information about Manitoba’s requirements is available from the Province of Manitoba’s Accessible Information and Communication Standard resource.
